What does Sheltons Construction do?

We're a licensed plumbing contractor working Portland-area homes and light-commercial properties. That covers two kinds of calls: things that can't wait — a burst line, a water heater that quit, a drain backing up into a tub — and things you plan for, like swapping a failing tank for a tankless unit, repiping a house that's still running galvanized, or roughing in plumbing for a kitchen, bath, or addition. Where do you work?

Portland and the metro: Beaverton, Hillsboro, Gresham, Tigard, Tualatin, Lake Oswego, West Linn, Oregon City, Milwaukie, Happy Valley, Clackamas, Wilsonville, Troutdale, and Sherwood, plus Salem for larger or scheduled jobs where a trip south makes sense. This is Oregon work — Multnomah, Washington, and Clackamas counties are the core of it.

What makes this different from a general plumber?

Portland's housing stock is mixed in a way that matters on a service call. A 1920s bungalow in Southeast with original cast iron and a jury-rigged vent stack is a different job than a 1990s build in Tigard with PEX and a builder-grade water heater already at end of life. We work both regularly, so we're not guessing at what's behind the wall or under the slab — we know where old Portland houses tend to fail (undersized drains, corroded galvanized supply lines, crawl spaces that stay wet from November through April) and where newer builds tend to fail (shortcut fittings, water heaters sized wrong for the household).

We're the Oregon license in a family plumbing business that also runs a Washington company across the river. That means real infrastructure behind the truck that shows up — but the crew, the license, and the work are Oregon's.
